Chris Weidman has not been happy with the talk surrounding a potential bout between recently-crowned middleweight champion Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson.
Bisping (29-7 MMA, 19-7 UFC) captured the title from Luke Rockhold (15-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC), the man who took the belt from Weidman (13-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) at UFC 194.
Weidman and Bisping have been trading barbs on Twitter recently, starting with a Tweet from the former champ accusing the Brit of looking to fight someone way down the pecking order in Henderson.
“Wait, so the champ wants to fight the 13th ranked guy next?” Weidman wrote. “What the heck is going on here?!”
Over the course more than a week, the two chose times to lob shots on social media. Last night, Bisping tried to cast doubt on Weidman’s career with a backdoor accusation of the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
Bisping mentioned Weidman’s recent trouble staying healthy heading into scheduled bouts, tying those issues to the increased testing since the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency was brought in to run the UFC’s program.

“You never fail to make me smile,” Bisping wrote. “You’ll get yours, if and when you win a fight. Lots of injuries since USADA though. Weird!”
After the tweet, Weidman responded he was done “bullying” Bisping before responding with his own accusation.
“Going hard trying to throw dirt on me,” Weidman wrote. “Your own teammates gave u up. ‘People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.’”
It is still unknown if Bisping, ranked No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA middleweight rankings, will face No. 2 ranked Rockhold in a rematch, No. 3 ranked Weidman, Henderson, an honorable mention in the most recent rankings, or another challenger.
